Wise Words: Productivity is getting more work done. That’s it.

Question 1: What can you eliminate?

The more you eliminate and the less you do, the better you get at what you do. This is the law of essentialism.

You don’t need to go to every meeting, learn every new business skill, and stay updated on the latest news.

Say no and cut out the less important.

If you are unsure to whether to say no, ask yourself:

“Does this get me closer to what I really want to accomplish.”

No: Eliminate

Yes: go to step 2

Question 2: What can you simplify?

When you eliminate, start simplifying the remaining tasks.

Time-block and list your most important tasks. Create a process by simplifying your work into specific actions.

This is an example of my email creation process:

Ask yourself:

“can this be simplified?”

Yes: Create a process or start time-blocking

No: Go to step 3

Question 3: What can you batch?

I batch my interruptions to create longer periods of work time.

I read my emails, do errands, and workout in one section of time.

“can this be batched”

Yes: Plan your interruptions

No: Go to step 4

Question 4: What can you leverage?

Leverage is focusing on the inputs that are actually growing your business.

What I leverage:

  • Processes to do my most important work: My 7-step email creation process

  • Technology to automate and assist: Beehiiv automation and google analytics

  • Money on people and skills: courses, books, and videos on skills and productivity (for more on skills, check out MillionaireBefore20 newsletter to learn more about business and life as a young entrepreneur)
